I got the go ahead to release some code I wrote on the clock, so enjoy a new article by yours truly. I'm posting this notice here mainly in case astute readers of the lounge realize that my earlier talks here involving a problem with a paying project wound up as an article on code project. It's above board. And I couldn't be happier about that. Anyway, it's just something to control PWM fans but it was hard to do, so I got a sense of accomplishment out of the whole thing. And for those of you that were wondering/following along from earlier, I was finally talked out of going my own way on the matter, and instead relying on the PID algorithm. There were several reasons for it, so I'll omit them here, but suffice it to say that once I found kp ki and kd I was happy with the result.

To err is human. Fortune favors the monsters.

another neon sign that says "look at me" :) fortunately, the so-beyond-mundane colors in your rare earth incandescent tubes are often ... delightful ! i think of multi-colored shimmering moire patterns in an oil slick on water seen from the right angles or the wrong angles, but, without the necessity of altering brain chemistry. keep on truckin' cheers, Bill

I didn't post it for attention. I posted it because I got anxious and wondered what folks like Randor who were following along might have thought when they saw the article posted. Bill, I don't think you know enough about me to divine my intentions, but about 90% of my motives are anxiety driven :~, not narcissism driven.

i did not mention narcissism, or imply i "divine" your intentions: i expressed, in a metaphor, how i experience your Whitmanesque presentation

          Quote:

Do I contradict myself? Very well, then, I contradict myself; (I am large. I contain multitudes).

          Whitman, Song of Myself, 51

Fair enough. I don't read enough Walt Whitman, I suppose, and apparently I don't know enough people that do either. I guess I'm in with a bad crowd. :-\

maybe i'm just envious that: while i once tried to play the role of stupor mundi ... in my fractal 20's ... i did not have the technical brilliance you have achieved, young ... i was just a mush of wild images, pretending i was an artist :)

Yeah, but you can write, and absorb literature like a sponge. I can appreciate the written word but maybe not to the same degree you do. You're like a wine taster going over some of the great works out there, and I'm over here with my primitive palate going "needs hot sauce" But seriously, I'm just playing the hand I'm dealt. I mean, it's cool that I have a gift for development, but my hand also has a couple of crappy cards I've got to contend with, like mental illness. I struggle with a lot of things - even things most people don't have trouble with. Development just isn't one of them. ;)

A typical week on Codeproject: - Apple sucks - Tesla sucks - Musk sucks - Microsoft sucks - Windows sucks - Everything else sucks - I got the Diabetes - I got the Covid - My cat brings me dead rats. - A list of celebrities that died this week. Oh, hey look! Someone said something cheerful! They must be bragging, it's ruining my misery. Let's make a rude comment and then gaslight them into thinking it's just poetry.

I can remember the first day after I bought my 4k monitor. The text here on codeproject was so crisp, I thought to myself... I want to be a screen saver. :~
