Too quiet here this morning. Left ponder here. I should know better Got an email that I should sign up for a government site that allows access for many government services (I get health care from the VA). Wow, can't wait. So, I submit: 1. email address 2. MFA stuff, text phone number and get 10 secret codes. 3. SS # (don't sweat that, it was compromised years ago). 4. Photos of my photo ID 5. Promise to play nice. 6. Short arm inspection. 7. Respond to verification text. And then... TaDa: "You have experienced an error". Call 800.... They put me on ignore. Experience: recognizing a mistake the second time you make it.

Thanks. Because it is an emergency they rushed the appointment through and it has only taken 6 weeks to get in. Next Tuesday is the day!

That's one of the most complicated and scary things about training doctors. You can only do so much with animals, at some point you have to be trained on human beings under the supervision (no pun intended) of a trained doctor. I would assume that there was no supervision?

There was a supervising doctor but when she put in the first stint he told her that it needed to be removed and she wasn't able so she put another in. A lot of the doctors at the VA are young and recent grads getting experience. Think about it, not all doctors graduate at the top of their class. What happens to the ones that are graduate at the bottom?

Not only with doctors... I would not go into a building where some of my pals in college had to do with the electric installation or machines used into it.

Three avionics engineers from different companies are taking a flight together. I can think of multiple reasons why I would never respond to such an e-mail. In Israel, one must go physically to the appropriate office (bank branch, government office, whatever), show ID etc., and then you will get two letters by snail-mail giving you the account ID and the initial password for your account. The idea is that no single communication contains all of the data required to break your account. Much slower, but much more secure. Sometimes low-tech is the best way.

Well, the email was from a legit source that I could verify. All's well that ends well. The next day, I could log in and request a prescription refill. The VA, and their health care, has been very good to me.
