Okay, I want to leave a comment on a blog article: I have to use GitHub to login (strange): I have to have a security code emailed to me to login by GitHub (annoying). GitHub sends me to "Giscus" :wtf: where I cannot login unless I agree to allow GitHub Apps to act "on my behalf," and other unnatural acts.

Authorizing GitHub Apps When does a GitHub App act on your behalf? To what extent can a GitHub App know which resources you can access and act on your behalf? You can authorize a GitHub App to allow an application to retrieve information about your TitHub account and, in some circumstances, to make changes on GitHub on your behalf.
This is where "Open Source" has ended-up ?

Open source means you can do it yourself. I was that paranoid. It's paying off with every headline from Kent.

:) Perhaps they are using the OAuth[^] protocol ... Other sites even do not ask users for permission

That's what they do; hanging around a real CPU. I've yet to meet a developer who is seriously about apps on phones. Given the UI's, I think most of it is "written" by some form of.. Acrobat Player. I for one, don't touch them.
