A friend and I are having a rabid discussion and I'd like to get your input. Which spans a longer period of time? BBIAF (Be back in a few) - or - BBIAB (Be back in a bit) ? -Jack

To me, BBIAF means be back in a few minutes so it means a person will be back within an hour or so. BBIAB mean ~1 to 3 hours. Anyway, that's what these phrases mean to me.:) Brad Jennings "You're mom is nice. Mind if I go out with her?" - Jörgen Sigvardsson

I've never actually seen BBIAF used. I've always seen/typed BRB for a really short time (like, I'm going to the fridge to get a drink) or BBIAB for a few minutes. Anything longer than BBIAB and I log off ;) --Mike-- "So where does that leave us? BBIAF means to me you will take a break for the length of time that it takes to drink a few beers. BBIAB allways looks to me to be about the time that it takes to urinate. It would be good if some standards authority would start creating protocols for this stuff. Also the whole smiley system needs standardizing, especially when it comes to language translations.
