To my Fellow Americans: (Always wanted to say that:-D) Since we have to day off of work tomorrow I just wanted to wish you a happy 4th-eve. We sure showed those Brits what's up!:-D To my fellow CPians: (Not as good, but still a nice ring) What's your favorite countries' independence day? Mine: Mexico, Cinco De Mio Why: When I was in high scool a bunch of my freinds and I went to a Mexican restarunt during Cinco De Mio. Not knowing what it was I asked one of the waiters what Cinco De Mio was. Waiter: "Why, it's our independence day." Me: "From who?" Waiter: "We beat the French." Me: "Who hasn't?"

I could be wrong (and am too lazy to verify) :-), but I believe Cinco de Mayo was to celebrate the victory of the Mexican army over the French army in The Battle Of Puebla in 1862. However it is not the Mexican Independence day.

And we're a scrubby people we like it that way, and we took the cue from France about the bathing.
