    MY MODEM has a built-in WIFI router. somehow my cell phone's connection to WIFI router is not stable. any idea?

      You don't tell us much about your problem, but first thing to check is IP addressing issues. i.e. Dynamic vs static. This is generally one of the first setup needed when installing a new one.

        it is dynamic (DHCP). I did not change much settings and just used the default ...

          I had issues with dynamic IP addressing (DHCP) and printers. Had to limit the IP address range. If phone is the only issue might be physical range or interference. Sorry can't be much more help without more info. Good luck.

                I once had a router whose out of the box setting for max number of connected devices was set too low for the number of devices I had. Things would work, then not, then work again as everything fought over who got the connection. These days I would expect that setting's default to be much higher if it even exists because so many houses have a large number of connected devices but it may be worth a look.
