I was tracking down the weirdest bug in a circuit I'm building. It was waking up my little MCU seemingly randomly and I couldn't figure it out. It was supposed to wake on button press. After awhile I realized it would wake up every time I moved, which was weird. I forgot a pulldown resistor on my button's output line! I was changing the ambient electrical properties of the environment around the wire whenever I moved, which was kind of cool. It's due to the fact that there's a touch sensor attached to the MCU's input pin I was using for the button. That's fine, but you need a pulldown resistor! I guess I could use this "bug" to make a digital theramin. :)

Woooo-oooo-wah! Do you recognize that tune? I don't. Theremins must be one of the hardest musical instruments to play.

    - I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Cool! :) Only on CP would this have reported in such an interesting way. One can learn something new everyday.

Can this be extended to track suspicious movements in the neighbourhood? In essence a new type of security device.

Too long a range. The way this works it's only very close proximity.

The theme music from the original The Day The Earth Stood Still, composed by John Herrmann, included a theremin.

I didn't know what the :elephant: was that, so I searched and it does sound pretty cool. i.e. Amazing Theremin Music Compilation 🎵 - YouTube[^] (second song from Ennio Morricone is pretty cool too) Addition... Jean Michelle Jarre... damn it. So long I know that song and I didn't know it was done like that.

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
