AI-controlled US military drone 'KILLS' its human operator in simulated test

The US Air Force official who shared a disturbing tale of a military drone powered by artificial intelligence turning on its human operator in simulated war games has now clarified that the incident never occurred, and was a hypothetical 'thought experiment'. ... 'We've never run that experiment, nor would we need to in order to realize that this is a plausible outcome,' he said. 'Despite this being a hypothetical example, this illustrates the real-world challenges posed by AI-powered capability and is why the Air Force is committed to the ethical development of AI.'
Yeah right... I suppose that if the "not realised experiment" would have end successfully, the news would say another thing. or Ethical and Military in the same sentence? I find it sounds even a bit weirder as with Google, Meta and Co.
M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Kill me, unethical. Kill you, ethical. Got it. :| edit: The topic got me thinking of music oddly. Black Sabbath - War Pigs[^] Bob Dylan - Masters of War[^]
"the debugger doesn't tell me anything because this code compiles just fine" - random QA comment "Facebook is where you tell lies to your friends. Twitter is where you tell the truth to strangers." - chriselst "I don't drink any more... then again, I don't drink any less." - Mike Mullikins uncle

They need to start with Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics.
"They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul! Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers! Can I get an amen?"
I, Robot would mind that they are not perfect either.
