I prefer the Browning Hi Power, with 13 rounds, but it's kinda hard to carry concealed. Worst case, if I can get a few of them to stand in a line, the Browning BAR in .30-06 should be able to manage 4 at a time, with one spare shot left in the magazine.

After fighting with this 10 yo PC that is cluttered and balky, and can't run Win 11, I finally bought the components last night for its replacement. I'm building it on an ASUS MB - my first from that company - with the Z690 chipset. The brains will be supplied by a Core i9 12900KF CPU running at 3.2 GHz (that boggles the mind, as my first CPU ran at an impressive 1 MHz!). For memory I'm settling for a mere 64 GB of DDR5 RAM with a 1TB SSD. Graphics will be provided by a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti card from ASUS. Hopefully this will be able to run AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS with too much lag. The best part is that, a couple of calls I was holding leapt up in price this morning by enough to more than pay for the new system, so I sold them! Happy Friday! :beer:!

That i9 is a monster. I have one in my laptop and it beats my desktop CPU at the same power draw. Have to liquid cool it really on desktop (I hope you are doing that) which is why I went with the i5-13600K (a nasty little sleeper chip whose single core performance rivals your chip but can be cooled on air) Based on brand and chipset I have pretty much the same mobo as you. A Call is a type of security; when you buy a call, it gives you the right to buy 100 shares of a stock at a fixed price, within a specified time frame. For instance, last week I bought 2 calls on SMCI (Supermicro) company at $240 with an expiration date of Sept 15th. That gave me the right to buy 2x 100 shares of SMCI at $240 per share, and I'm free to exercise that right anytime before Sept 15. Those two calls cost me $30.50 per share, or $6700 for both. Yesterday the value of those calls rose to 44.75 per share, or $8950. When I sold them, I made $2250 net profit, which isn't bad for 1 week. Calls and Puts (the right to sell 100 shares) are called Options, and they can be risky. But done right, following certain rules, they can be low risk, high profit trades.

Good to know! I did not know about any need for liquid cooling so I opted for fans - many fans! There's three on the video card, two in the case, one on the CPU, and one on the power supply. There's room in the case for many more, and pins for many fans on the MB, so I'll hope for the best. But I'll watch for overheating and be prepared to re-plumb the thing if needed. Yeah, it's a 250 watt chip. My 180 watt chip hits mid 90s (celsius) on the hottest core (#3 for some reason) and I have the best air cooler on it money can buy. You can change your power targets with something like ThrottleStop in order to turn it into a 180W chip. If you undervolt it as well you'll still get plenty of performance but it will take some doing. I can walk you through it if you're interested, but you'll need the following software HWMonitor ThrottleStop 9.6 (download from TechPower) Cinebench If you want to be safe, Shadow of the Tomb Raider's benchmark. You can get a demo of the game off steam.

Great idea, I've just done the same, with a Gigabyte MB and a Ryzen 9 7900. Bought a be Quiet case, so I'm having trouble getting my old 12 TB plus two 8 TB mirrored discs in it. However I am blown away by the boot speed. My caffeine intake will drop, I no longer have time to get a mug while it is booting.

moving house, and still got a memory stick from school, an amazing 64 MB of bytes, portable and super fast transfer speeds, 2004 maybe. I recall being so excited getting an external hard drive with USB 2.0, all that 40GB storage for me alternatively acquired media and last company I was at gave away free at conferences usb 3 sticks of 64 GB 👀 oh no lost one, that's fine ill just pickup from supermarket for 10$ oh and that 3.2 GHz, nice, but there 4 or 8 of them in the space as before 😲 think I have the least knowledge of change, power consumption. Get me PSU that I think be good, gold rating for efficacy, and off we go. I don't know if power gone up or down, or same. more stuff plugged in more power for sure, but number, watts is something I heard about

By way of an update, I may not have a heating problem, though I may need to wear ear protection while I'm in the same room as the new PC. All the parts arrived today, and I counted fans tonight. The CPU, of course, has cooling - this Thermaltake unit has a liquid-filled radiator bigger than a Volkswagen Beetle and two fans. The video card has three more. And the case came with three 120 mm fans on the bottom (along with a dust filter). The front panel also sports two 180 mm fans protected by another filter. I suspect that air flow is not going to be a problem. The problem may turn out to be finding a way to make everything in the room remain on the bookshelves.

LOL, you'll get a much quieter result with great airflow by replacing your fans with noctuas, but it's not cheap. They are however, worth it.
