That, or as the chef said: "The Special Operation was built on lies". i.e. Putin now has an "out": he was lied to. Only time will tell if Putin "gets it".

If he does then he loses face (and quite possibly Crimea or even the whole Ukraine war) and risks his troops refusing to be involved as appears to have happened in Rostov. Just like the war itself, I don't see any signs of an exit strategy developing.

I dunno - Putin is between a rock and a hard place here: if he doesn't pull troops out of Ukraine to block Wagner he could lose the Kremlin without a shot being fired (except at him, I suspect). If he does then he loses face (and quite possibly Crimea or even the whole Ukraine war) and risks his troops refusing to be involved as appears to have happened in Rostov. when our opacity is more transparent, and our transparency is more opaque ... are we more, or less, blind ? my heart goes out to the millions who are suffering, and will suffer more, in this geopolitical nightmare driven by the usual suspects: the ambitions and grandiosity of tyrants and autocrats who dream of lost empire, the never-ending saga of the battle to control energy sources, etc. This bonfire of vanities and atrocities fed with the lives of young soldiers, children. :rose:
