Soooooooo... n00b question. Is the goal of this game to find a word that rhymes with the first word based on the hint and letter count? I've never tried it. :-O

Nope, it's a single Cryptic Crossword Clue[^] and follows normal CCC rules: discombobulate, misdirect, and confuse the reader as much as possible! Punctuation is (normally) to be ignored (but not necessarily) as it's rarely helpful, and you'll find anagrams which have "keyword" indicators which include (but aren't limited to) "free", "about", and "could be" - there is a list here[^] which is nearly comprehensive. For example, one episode of the TV show Drop the Dead Donkey had one character (Henry Davenport) trying to get the final clue on his crossword for a whole day: "gegs (9, 4)" the solution being "Scrambled eggs" ...

Oh, and the prize for solving it first is that you get to post it the next working day.

My preferred definition is "to talk ramblingly or unintelligibly". It seems...apt :)

              cheers Chris Maunder

Thanks for that. This scares me, but it also makes me want to try it.
