Sounds like mainstream religion to me.

Its typical, standard mob/group think. It hasn't changed in thousands of years. It applies to all groups of people, religion, social media, whatever. Those who have differing views than "us" are the enemy.

This looks like something I would post. I have to say I am extremely surprised to see you post it. Social media is 100% a political machine. Nothing more. Nothing less. Stop using social media. It really is that simple.

Technically, the Lounge/Where I am is social media. The Soapbox used to be but that was shut down. I don't consider the rest of the forums to be "social" in the "social media" sense, but I get your point.

Followers. Secret passwords. Distorted view of reality. False sense of belonging. Ritualistic dependency. Mob mentality. Preaches, vilifies, condemns. Difficult to quit. So ... "Weird cult", or "Social media"? :-D

A can of worms? Seriously, my first thought was a political rally or possibly organized crime/religion, but that's likely soapbox material so I refuse to elaborate further.

More cult than social media. In fact in some "cults" there is no quiting such as the mafia.

Yes it is. At the very beginning of FB I was in and it was cool. But already before finishing studies, when the competition about who has more friends started, I had already dropped the usage to the minimum and haven't used it at all for the last 10 years...

M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
