As much as I love Gilmour, there is one guitarist who consistently delivered more emotion as far as I'm concerned. He's long been regarded as the guitarist's guitarist; Mr Jeff Beck, and this[^] is one of my favourites.

This is just the guitar solo, the entire set is amazing. His last Pompeii concert was pure magic. The absolutely best performance guitar solo of David Gilmour - YouTube[^] There are very few musicians that can bring me to tears, this is one of them.

Gilmour, Beck, Clapton, Vai, Hendrix, Van Halen, etc... all great and all well known. Let's not forget about the late, great but sometimes overlooked Eddie Hazel. Eddie Hazel - Wikipedia[^] Funkadelic - Maggot Brain [HQ] - YouTube[^]

He is great, one of the few guitarists I can listen to all day.

 I remember hearing 'Blue Powder' from one of those cheap vinyl square 'tear-off' records from guitar world. (i think the year was 1986) :)

Saw Stevie, live, years ago (1990) in Houston TX at a local school benefit. He just popped in for a quick session as a gesture to a teacher friend. He was amazingly efficient with a guitar. He left us that same year.
