Went to the Emergency department on Monday night with a pain in my stomach and vomiting, to having a 2.3cm gall stone blocking my gallbladder. Left Saturday night minus a gallbladder and found out I have type 2 diabetes. Life took a left turn...

Welcome to the "getting older" club. I'm sure they told you this, but be careful with the greasy foods now that you have no gallbladder. My stats currently (51 years of age) t2d - insulin pump (diag. 2007) aortic root aneurysm fatty liver high-risk for pancreatitis mod/sev sleep apnea 6 surgeries over 1 hour each, and counting. I have another surgery scheduled for next month (approx. 2 hours). The diabetes is ravaging my body. Most of my surgeries are diabetes related. I am not going to preach to you about what you should or should not do in regards to T2D, but "do" everything they tell you or you will end up like me...seriously.

You missed my Mother's Day post where I choked on a 1.8mm piece of apple and had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital to have it removed by day surgery. July, I got eye tested and now have glasses for short-sightedness. FWIW, I'm 55... Been a year...

I have spent a good chunk of my life at the hospital, in one capacity or another, but never as a result of choking - knock on wood. Glad you made it through that, must have been frightful to say the least.

I have had asthma all of my life, so the choking was just another day, just a different breathing problem.

78, but I stopped counting when I passed 53, which was the age that carried off my dad.

My brain likes to think it's 21 but the body is saying otherwise... Went to the shops with my wife today and did no lifting, but a lot of walking. My belly is now screaming at me. I over did it a little... lol

Have been regularly practicing some of the Yoga postures told in this book - [Yogasanas – Advaita Ashrama](https://shop.advaitaashrama.org/product/yogasanas/), and belly has fat reduced to near zero, type 2 diabetes is under good control (with minimal medication). Overall good. Am 58 years of age. Note: Not sure whether that Yoga book is available outside India, but you'll find equivalents. (Converted to USD, the cost of this book is less than 2 $ in India)

Thanks for the info. My wife has made a diet plan for me with the aim to reduce and try to eliminate the diabetes. I will look up the book. I have the added issue of no gallbladder, so it will be interesting.

I immediately checked out the book, then found that, while it is $2 and ships to the US, they want $37 shipping! Wish I could find it locally, though... I'd really like to try it.

Maybe i can buy it locally and send to you by India Post. It will certainly be much less, but may take about 15 to 20 days to reach. If okay for you I can send.

Amarnath, that would be great. But how will I reimburse you for it? Send me an email and let's figure that out!

                                        Will Rogers never met me.
