            Why ALT?:confused: For me it has always worked without. Is it an US thing?

              Using ALT makes it just capture only the current window rather than the entire screen.

                        TechSmith Capture[^], formerly know as Jing It allows image and video capture, basic annotations, and free online sharing (it hosts the videos for free and you get an access link you can share with anyone).

                                I tell you what, I love SnagIt because its editor gets it right when it comes to annotating a screenshot after capture. Plus, for me, I can drag and drop out of the preview window into an email without saving the picture for those quick notes. Saves me clutter in my saved folders. The video capture is pretty nice as well. As for free software, a lot of other users where I work have/had PrintKey 2000[^] installed. Not sure how up to date it is.

                                          Greenshot is the best IMO. And it's free. Greenshot for Windows Very versatile so you can configure it to suit your workflow and preferences.
