Damn it, just saw that I am longer member at Codeproject than some of my work colleagues are alive. :-D Does that make me feel old? Nope. Am having fun with that. How many are members here since 20+ years and still active?

My first "professional" gig, was when I was 15 years old in '78. Programming some office utilities in UCSD Pascal. So 45 years since then. But I started programming personally much before then. I think I first started learning all this when I was 10, and actually got to play with a friends TRS-80 a few years later. In that time, Ive got work with so many types of software - embedded video software, modding system Bios software, a the way through to major web sites, enterprise and gov't systems. Its been a wild ride 😉

My "crap I'm old" moment came a few years ago when I walked into our local Cub Scout pack roundup meeting and one of the dad's signing his son up had been in my son's den in the same pack.

Members with numbers below a few hundred like me and Ravi B are those who were on the list Chris used to send out the initial invites to the site since were members at the previous site that shall remain nameless. My participation here has varied over the years but I am on the road a lot less these days so I am more active. I spent a number of years on the road and I wouldn't want to do that again with the state of travel these days.

Member # 196 that's quite in the beginning really. And still around. Great. We have seen some changes to this site, haven't we? I have been out-of-business for some years in-between, burnout and all that, but cant let go of programming.

I'm not as active as I once was, but I'm still here 23 years later. It actually might be a little longer, since way back when there was a database problem, and everyone got assigned a new, later join date.
