Rumor mill is that there's a 'big' release coming in '24, but there's no official announcement yet. I look at it like the pustulent larva of a monster [50GB for an O/S?] from a 1960's B movie. It crushes everything in its path [work on the bugs in the current version slows to a crawl], stops for a while, and then emerges from its cocoon [release day] screaming the song of its people [marketing and social media] at 150 dB. After it's killed several of the minor characters [FUD from the fruity eunuch's crowd], someone figures out how to defeat it [e.g. turn stupid stuff off], THE END. Until of course the sequel [first big update to fix all the crap released before it was completely baked]...

The bigger question is: Will they skip 13 and go from 12 to 14 when the time comes? :)

One could suppose that the marketing department is not going to put out a release that says 'minor useless improvements and annoying UI changes will be the only thing in the next major release of Windows'. Although I did see something somewhere that they would be doing a subscriber model. That of course would be "big".

The truth is not a good marketing model. If they go to subscription I'll be going to linux or keep what I got till I die...I'm old so this may be as viable option.
