I hope your backup server wasn't "Uranus"... One day in the computer room.... "Hey Joe!" "Yeah?" "Get the tape out of Uranus!"

John Simmons / outlaw programmer wrote: my workgroup at home is "SkyNET". Good one. I just saw T3 last night. I thought it was pretty good for the following reasons: 1) Blowing up stuff 2) 2 really hot chicks 3) More blowing up stuff 4) The computer stuff actually looked believable. SkyNET booting up looked like a Linux server going through it's bootup proceedure.

Yep thats the one. But he wasn't actually a roomate, he lived in the room directly across the hall. He used to have a DNS entry with his friends domain name (which must have expired now) but he quickly put a stop to that when he realized that several of my friends and I set up port forwarding on all of our firewalls to him. Matt Newman

I thought Evil 2 died a while back, from the thread it mentioned something about holy water and a priest :~ But if there is Evil Webserver 2 is there an Evil Webserver 1? If so why is it never mention when you speek of evil webservers? :P Matt Newman

We had a swamp theme going for awhile: SWAMP - development server for students LIZARD - production office apps REPTILE - file server DRAGON - 1st GIS server COBRA - 2nd GIS file server a bunch of GATOR boxes for Appletalk -> TCPIP. ROOKIE SARGE FELON - 3 police servers HYDRANT - fire station MUSTANG - town planning (where that came from I don't know) We knew exactly what was on each server.:-D Then a new management team came in, renamed them all and we don't have a clue what's on each. ie. Dev2 is NT, Dev3 is Unix. Apps1, Apps2 are Unix, Apps3 is NT. Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored Aldous Huxley (1894 - 1963)
