I asked my boss (my wife ;p) ....

But there seems to be a fly in the ointment... The DeLoriant will probably cost me a lot more :(

A bloke living near me has a DeLorean. I was chatting to him about how great it was to own such an iconic vehicle. Turns out, I was wrong - there are so many things wrong with the design. The biggest problem is that, as it sits so low to the ground, if you're driving at night, even small vehicles behind you dazzles you, as though they are on high beam. Also, as you get older, low slung vehicles are a damn sight harder to get out of.

And even if you are in good shape, you are more likely to get injured and then still have that problem. Not to mention that many people use their garage as a storage bin. Probably don't want to park that car on the street. So need to clean that garage first.

We are living in a very old house in which living room, kitchen and bathroom are up to date (at least for us it is ok/comfortable). But first floor (bedrooms) is very old. For me never a problem, to sleep about eight hours, I don't need a styled environemt. Comming to the point: I ask my wife what she would prefer: a.) Expand the bedroom floor comfortably? b.) Buying a 'DMC DeLorean'? DMC DeLorean - Wikipedia[^] To my surprise, she also chose the DeLorean  I'm so happy ;)

I was going to ask exactly that. Unless of course you are doing an extraordinary remodel on that bedroom. Or alternatively you and/or the wife like doing your own car work including body work.

I have a little bit of experience in welding. But the body of the car is made of stainless steel and I wouldn't dare touch it with my limited knowledge/praxis :(

I'd say it's more mixed. Certain things about that car were quite innovative. If anything, I think it's guilty of trying too hard - it came out too clever by half, and many of those innovations turned into headaches.

I forgive this car for any faults and it has many of them. But this car simply fascinates me, just the stainless steel body. And , I have now worked now for 40 years and have perhaps taken a vacation a maximum of 10 times during this time. Now perhaps I allow myself this extravagance and only out of collector instinct ;)

It's still a lovely car, warts and all.

Be careful... who knows when you will end if you get eventually hit by a ligthning
M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

No problem so far  AC/DC - Thunderstruck (Official Video) - YouTube[^]
The joke was more in the direction of "return to the future" than to AC/DC but... OK, I accept it

If you can sell it more expensive later on... But yeah, sleeping better every night is a good argument
