And while doing that add in a whole lot of other stuff - like tracking usage. Seems unlikely to me that anyone can design a system (or a law/regulation) which cannot be abused/misused. Intentionally or unintentionally.

My concept of "open source": Write something new; see if it sells; follow the life cycle ... then set it free. And then find something else to create.
