Being from the south, I absolutely agree that southern style music is great... whether it's southern country and rock or even zydeco. It has a nice warmth and charm to it and is usually about just having a good time. Which IMO is a lot better of a message than most of the crap released today. Not sure how much southern music you follow, but if this is a new discovery I gotta mention some you may not hear on the radio or from a Google search. But it's such a southern song and about food, so nom nom... [Jambalaya (On The Bayou)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vehZjoBO0zc) And you'll definitely hear this on the radio. Blame Canada: The Dead South is a folk-bluegrass musical ensemble based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. But they are great, agreed.

I wanted to go a good while ago but it just wasn't tenable. If they're ever back where they were, I am definitely making more effort to see them though. The banjo player is part of 'our tribe', too. (Code slinger) They were inspirational for me to pick up a guitar and start trying to learn. I'm a fair bit off I think from playing the Broken Cowboy intro which is what I started trying to do right off. Haven't actually tried again in awhile though (practicing/learning other easier things).
