where are you generally? I'm baking north of Atlanta. We're so dry here, I refused to do fireworks.

In north western washington state. We missed the heat dome, but I'm whiner when it's anywhere near 70F and I'm trying to sleep. Also comedic license.

lol. You are in a section of the country where you need a/c 5, maybe 10 days a year. So most places don't have it. I have friends in the northeast who have the same predicament. Here in the South, we embrace ac systems. Happen to have 2 4 ton units - which are LARGE units. When I want ac, Sauron bends his knee :)

70? We hadn't had that low for months. For the last 3 weeks it wasn't below 90 and it is not expected to get lower for the next two months...

Hey neighbour:) I am just north of you, just a bit east of Vancouver. Also enjoying our mini ‘heat’ wave.
Within you lies the power for good - Use it!
We may end up moving that way depending on how things in the US shake out in the next few years. :)

You are more than welcome if it comes to that, just do not expect things to be any better here versus there. Just end up trading one set of issues for another :sigh:

I *wish* I had a 70F room to sleep in...lately, nights have been holding steady between 80-90 in my bedroom (aka my office), and I've been sleeping on a couch in the basement, which just wrecks my back. I have central AC, but the bedroom is at the opposite end of the house, 2 floors up. The room is facing southwest, so it starts baking in the sun at 10 in the morning and won't let go until the sun goes down. At 1am you can still feel the heat radiating from the brick walls. I made the point of replacing all PCs in my bedroom/office with a single, tiny Beelink (Intel NUC type of PC), which I use to remote into systems I have elsewhere in the house. Yet you can still feel a difference in temperature as you walk in. It's not the PC's exhaust. It's the fact that this room's got 2 walls exposed to the sun all day long. For the last few years I've been spending my summers sleep-deprived, groggy most of the time and in a foul mood because of it.
