I know it well. A company called Norsk Data used to be based there (they may still have a presence). My company looked at renting part of Benham Valance once but opted to move en masse from Newbury to Hungerford (land in Newbury town centre is approx. £1M an acre, in Hungerford 8 miles to the West it's £300K). So I drive past Benham Valance most days. Cool place to have office - great surroundings!!! I am very jealous...

We love it... Maybe you can tell us where the good pubs are as we've just moved here... James.

OK. Come out of your place and turn left onto the A4 towards Hungerford for about 4 miles - there is a pub called The Halfway (halfway between Bristol and London fact fans!) that is pretty good (used to do great food, but I haven't been there for a little while). If you come out of your place, turn right and at the roundabout turn left towards Stockcross, there is a pub called The Lord Lyon just as you come into Stockcross village. That used to be good. There is another in Stockcross that I can't remember the name of that has a good garden. In Newbury there are a number of good pubs - The Lock, Stock and Barrel is next to the canal, so great for the summer. Also The Hogs Head for the same reason. I'll let you know if I think of any more!

Currently it's about 72-74F in my office. The outside high today will be 100+ with a heat index close to 110.

Our aircon is so fierce that I have to put a jumper on in the office!
