Anyone using Scalable vector graphics (SVG)[^] on their sites, or planning to? Just curious as to whether or not it will be adopted by the unwashed masses. cheers, Chris Maunder

I have incorporated the creation of SVG graphics into my application to produce overview images of data collection that are then rendered in a set of HTML pages output from the application to provide users with an easy (and distributable) interface to review the data that was collected. It's going to be used (and already is, on a "demo" sort of basis) for graphs in the reports we produce. We want to use HTML but print quality also matters for us, so bitmaps aren't ideal. The potential for interactivity is interesting, but don't know whether we'll ever get to the stage of making use of it. Gavin Greig "Haw, you're no deid," girned Charon. I seriousely thought about it for a chart component I was writing in the start of the year. The idea was to convert my Java code to SVG when the chart was presented on a JSP. But I found a free gif encoder, so it was more efficient in every way to stream the chart as a GIF. Haven't fully rejected the idea though, it could be handy with a web based chart component that is usable in asp, aspx and jsp.
