Need Free Web Hosting Account with 500 MB disk space
-
I just got a new Canon Powershot S400[^] digital camera and I LOVE it. The camera has the ability to record digital clips on it. The only problem is that the clips are HUGE. I was hoping to find a free hosting site that has ~500 MB free disk space. I'd settle for less if there is none that have this much. Any reccomendations? Chris LaQuerre eBusiness Consultant

Try to change the resolution to "Medium 2" 2,272 x 1,704 (Large), 1600 x 1200 (Medium 1), 1024 x 768 (Medium 2), 640 x 480 pixels (Small) Chris LaQuerre wrote: I was hoping to find a free hosting site that has ~500 MB free disk space. :~ Try OnMatrix[^] Look at the standard plan - 2GB space for 9.95 per month. (no setup fee) Caution: Their support sucks.

You can download free Microsoft Media Encoder (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/encoder/default.aspx[^]) and compress your huge video clips to more suitable sizes for Internet. I hope this helps.

I doubt that you'll find 500MB for free - most free services will give you 10 - 20MB. But Readyhosting.com will provide 500MB for $99/year, and their support is excellent.

Lazarus LongI used ReadyHosting for about 2 years but in the end I switched to another company - Hostony.com There are a few reasons: * Download speed of ReadyHosting is not very good. * Up time sucks. Especially the ASP part works only about 60% of the time. * The support was good in the beginning. But in the middle of my subscription, the sales department accused me of not paying my bill. That was ridicilous. I paid $99 for 1 year but after 6 months they told me that I have to pay again. I tried showed them my bank statement as a proof, but they stopped responding. After a long time, they opened up my account again, but that was too late. I already switched to another company. * ReadyHosting does not work in some countries. For example, when I went back to Turkey for a vacation, I realized that *none* of the web pages hosted on ReadyHosting works in Turkey. I tried it at least on 10 different machines in 3-4 different cities, but no chance. It does not work... Anyway, now I am using Hostony.com. It is much better than readyhosting. The support is marvelous. They have 24 hour live support (using ICQ). Mustafa Demirhan http://www.macroangel.com
