The events in the last couple of days have made many people angry and upset. Please remember that when you post something that you wrote in haste, your post will be on CodeProject permanently and will be read by a couple of hundred thousand people. Think before you post. Before you submit your posts please reread them and ask yourselves 'Do I truly feel that way, or is this just anger, fear and frustration talking'. I've never moderated CodeProject before (apart from moving posts) but I will from now on. Any racist, insulting, or degrading posts will be removed. Chris Maunder (CodeProject)

For what it is worth I offer my help (in exchange for peanuts and raisins or more "Tales of Chris Maunder in the Outback" :) ) in anyway you need. I, having prooved it over and over again in many ways, am admittedly not the most level headed of people and errr am guilty of being a bit of a "*read post* *scream in anger* *type, type, type, type* *hit submit* *read what i said* *scream in shame*" type BUT I can help in other ways, take a load of your shoulders etc. ..."I do not spend every waking hour of my life building and nurturing this site in order to have it tainted by bigotry and ignorance"... Just curious, because I am ignorant in this manner, what else do you do? As in a job(volunteer work? head of multi-national corporate billion dollar software company? craft indigenous designs out of dried wattles? put up with ignorant people all day?) Seriously just curious :) regards, Paul Watson Cape Town, South Africa e: paulmwatson@email.com w: vergen.org

As a highly opinionated person with a low level of self control, I've been going back and re-reading my posts for the last couple of days to make sure nothing slipped through my more stringent than usual self editing. Regardless of if I am at fault or not, I say it's a good thing, although it obviously increases your workload unduly. I feel I acted kind of out of line, but I feel the persons thread which I responded to was quite inappropiate at this timing. The person (whom I'm not naming) seems to have only arrive at codeproject just recently and has constantly strived to start linux flames wars. :| Again my apologies... I'll being staying out of the lounge for a while. Norm :-O

Oh well, sad to see that people will have their thoughts edited, even though I understand you are looking after your venture. I hope to still get to cross swords with John, Stan, Christian, Tim, Norm, Paul, Chris L etc. The threads I took part in both educated and enlightened me on many subjects. Although I am opinionated and argumentative I stand by everything I have posted (in haste or not) as I would be prepared to say what I have to the faces of the other participants. I won't volunteer to help moderate the list as this would be me impressing my will on the others. Also it needs to be done by one person to keep it consistent. You could add a button "Tell webmaster of an Offensive Post" instead of having to monitor it yourself.

I must admit I'm sorry to see that this has become necessary although I can see that recent events have led to this. I'm not somebody who posts madly on the forums because I only have a dial-up connection, and can only access the 'net at non-peak times (i.e. after six pm) and have always followed the Lounge as best I can and had quite a bit of fun here - hopefully this won't stop it. I'm sorry it's had to come to this because of the extrra workload it's gonna cause. Okay, I'm off to the old HTML editor now I've settled in with this new PC, a lovely shiny 1.4ghz Athlon, so speak to ya soon! > Andrew     "You have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone!"     -- Buffy (season 3, Giles to Wesley in Prom)
