The author seems to forget a few things. First of all, places in India have been the targets of plots by bin Laden. Additionally, India was involved in World War II, though not to the same extent as other places. Japanese forces had invaded from the east, but did not get very far and had to withdraw. This is a very sad plight. Everyone knows that western involvement in the MiddleEast is driven by oil, more than anything else. Afganistan certainly has nothing to offer. But, I think it is the duty of the world to do something about this mess. Russia - for starting and invasion, US - supporting and aiding Pakistan to oppose it. Now US and Russia are friends and members of G8. Probably G8, UN and nations in the Middle East will be able to find some solution to this problem. - Thomas

There is very little evidence that Bin Laden is directly involved in India. He is probably looked upon like a 'role-model' by the terrorist organizations operating in Kashmir. I am yet to see statements by Indian government blaming bin Laden for any attacks in India. Their fingers are pointed at Pakistan. If Pakistan is funding terrorists, then bin laden is not the problem, Pakistan is. Take away the funding, bin laden is a nobody. His actions all seem to be focussed against Israel and US. Yesterday, I saw the King of Jordan on TV saying that they had problems with bin Laden organizations and prevented large scale operations in US, Canada and western Europe, that could have led to 1000s of deaths during millenium celebrations. -Thomas

There is an indian mythical book - Mahabharatha, that is one of the holy books of the Hindus. 'Dhritarashtra' is the father (and king of the land) of a set of oppressive princes, who denied the birth right to their cousins. - Thomas
