Hello, the codegurus around the world;) I'm currently researching about IE6.0 and Java VM on Windows XP. As long as I know, we may not uninstall IE6.0 from Windows XP. At this case, we can easily install Java VM to Windows XP without checking IE6.0 installed. Does anyone know that the computer manufacture companis like HP can delete IE6.0 from their computer preinstalled Windows XP? Thank you in advance.;) Have a nice day!

Hello, the codegurus around the world.;) After I posted this question, I found that my question seems to be silly. This is my guess. If the user upgrades from Windows to Windows XP, the user may have the chance to downgrade from IE6.0 to the previous IE version. However, on PC preinstalled Windows XP, we can't uninstall IE6.0. Have a nice day!

I think IE can be uninstalled using some programs like Cleansweep. You'll be able to select the exe and then it will find all releated files and entries and delete them. :-D

The release version of Windows XP Professional (haven't tried home) allows you to uninstall IE from add/remove programs under the control panel.
