TechEd 2003[^] Apologies for bringing in a technical topic on a weekend :), but is there any chance of downloading the files streamed from the above link. I dont have enough bandwidth to watch them online :( I know it should be possible 'cause I have seen it on a MS DVD, but I couldn't figure out how to do this. Regards, Kannan

I don't get it, if you have enough bandwidth to download those files, then you certainly have enough of it to just watch the shows. I tried the old "save target as..." trick on it, and that doesn't work. I did get the latest PowerPoint Viewer out of the deal, though. You might try opening the download page and viewing the source. There might be enough information there to write your own page to capture each piece separately for downloading.

Many web presentations are unusable when viewed in real time, even with a very fast connection, because of variations in transfer rates during the presentation. It is often (usually) better to download at whatever rate your connection can sustain, then view it from your local copy.

Thanks Stephane The problem is my bandwidth (even if i have one, comes to a maximm download speed of 4k to 5k max) so its not possible to listen anything streamed, so that was the reason i said I couldn't view those files online. However if I can get direct link to the actual streamed content, i would just run the pc for the nite and have it downloaded in the morning, thats how i do for all big downloads. I tried viewing the source, but with my limited html/scripting knowledge, i couldnt get past further. Thanks anyway for your help. Regards, Kannan

I was very desperate to view those presentations, 'cause I wouldn't be able to attend those presentations realtime when they happen nor I could afford a DVD for $500 with all those stuff, so I thought if i could atleast get them and view them offline. They've called for a TechEd here in India, except that it spans for three months with one day for each month and with a price tag of 5k. The problem is the content is very ordinary. Anyways if you figured a way to get those files, let me know :-) regards, Kannan
