$!@#$# Windows Update
-
For some reason, Windows Update has decided to wage war on me. There are a few critical updates that JUST WON'T INSTALL, no matter what I do. And of course, being ever so helpful, Windows Update will not tell my *why* they failed to install, or even how to install them manually... but just that they failed. Where can I turn? Anywhere? :sigh: If your nose runs and your feet smell, then you're built upside down.

Tools/Options/General/Temporary Internet Files/Settings/View Objects Now, look the "Update Class". Right-click, "Remove". Now, close your browser and re-run Windows Update. It will reinstall the updater ActiveX. I need to do it from time to time... You can do it on anything you choose - from .bat to .net - A customer

Jeremy Falcon wrote: It allows you to download the files and install them independently of IE. Bah. Just select "Personalize Windows Update" and turn off those updates. You don't need 'em anyways. (Just kidding) Dave Goodman dgoodman@infoway.com www.dkgoodman.com "Actio sequitur esse."
