A friend - er, no - local Toronto musical whacko I know - once got it in his head to ask Johnny Cash for a guitar. As I recall, it wasn't so much that he was a die hard fan - he just needed a decent guitar, and figured the House of Cash could spare one. I forget all the details - there was a letter, etc. Anyways, far as I know he still has the guitar Cash gave him. Nice Guild 6 string. Black, of course. May the circle be unbroken.

Not only was he a great musical artist, he was a very nice man also. I went to high school with his granddaughter and met him at her birthday party. He was a great guy.
