A few days ago I stumbled across Alienware PC's and was impressed by how cool they looked as well as some nice details in how the box innards was *apprently* built - i.e. they seem like quality stuff. Someone mentioned that all you were paying for was the looks, that buying from Dell would actually be cheaper. So, bored out of my skull at work, I though, why not give it a price compare? So So I went to dell and priced the low end and high end Alienware Intel PC with the Dell XPS, and tried to match piece for piece with what AlienWare was offering. In both cases Dell was more expensive with the lower end system for Alienware coming in a $1,635, and Dell's at $1,748, and the high end systems were Alienware at $2,686, and Dell at $2808. So in fact, *if* I were to actually want to buy a new PC, I save at least $100 by going with AlienWare. Cool. Now if I could just justify the need for a new PC after buying a Mac.... :) ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! Now if I could just justify the need for a new PC after buying a Mac... sounds like justification right there :) "It takes a minimum of redesign to turn a crucifix into a pogo stick"

Carefull. Alienware custom builds most of their PC and depending on what you order it can take a while to deliver. Someone at work order a decked out laptop and almost every component is on backorder. My boss ordered an Alienware PC which he likes except for the fact that its HUGE. Todd Smith

As far as laptops go the big thing is warranty and docking station. You can get a docking station and an onsite warranty with Dell but Alienware only has a ship to depot warranty and no docking station.

Check the online bargin sites first - often, you can get killer deals at Dell by tweeking the loadout and applying a discount code. Hot-Deals.org and BensBargins.net both list Dell items often. As mentioned, the wait with Alienware might be an issue, as would be any service problems. You might ALSO want to run down all the gaming hardware review sites before spending money, and see what they have to say. Of course, if money is no object, spec out this

before spending money Alas it is not to be, this is simply mindless, wishful thinking on my part. :) ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Real Mentats use only 100% pure, unfooled around with Sapho Juice(tm)! SELECT * FROM User WHERE Clue > 0 0 rows returned
