    Hi, im running IIS and someimtes apache on my home machine and would like to know how to convert the localhost word in the url to something that someone from another computer can access. if the url I use to access the page is localhost:8080/Home.html and my IP adress is 152.103.2.19 then i test the url as http://152.103.2.19:8080/Home.html but it says page not found... am I doing something wrong?

      Are you behind a router? If you are, it can sometimes be that your router doesn't allow you to access 'yourself' with your public IP. You can check this by surfing over to the cloak[^] and typing your IP in there. HTH :-D Paul ;)

        I'm not sure, but your IP isn't resolved from here using 75 hops! Chris Meech If you spin a Chinese person around, do they become dis-oriented?           a) smart man, got a firewall? Poke a hole on port 8080. I suggest you use something ELSE other than 8080, since it's Blindingly Obvious. b) dumb man, got no firewall? Then your ISP is blocking known server ports. See answer to (A) above - change port to something else, like 9999 or whatever. And go spend $50 or less and get a hardware solution like the D-Link, NetGear, LinkSys, or Siemans (all which I've used and like)
