Does anyone know of any speech recognition software that can work from an Mp3, as opposed to a microphone? I would like to do a transcription of a fairly extensive spoken-word Mp3 I have and Microsoft's SR software seems to only work through a microphone. Please let me know. Perhaps there's some kind of work-around that would allow me to fool MS SR into thinking the MP3 is the microphone. Perhaps it's as simple as running the line out cord into the mic in port, and then playing the MP3. I'm not sure how safe this is though. [edit:] I suppose it's also as simple as holding the microphone up to the speaker and playing the Mp3.(d'uh!):-O But I was wondering if there was a more direct way.

I will state the obvious; Have you tried putting the microphone in front of the speakers as the MP3 plays? Should not be any feedback loop. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Miszou wrote: I have read the entire internet. on how boring his day was. Crikey! ain't life grand?

If you find one, let me know. Last time I checked, untrained speech recognition was next to useless. My baby is a telephony product, getting even partial transcriptions of converstations would be very useful. The chaps who used to to dragon dictate have a product that says it is capable, but they don't allow evaluation downloads. Or respond to mail containing test data.. Ryan.
