How about some piece of code from you, Thomas? Just to be sure that metallica has no influence on the coding style ;-) -- See me: www.magerquark.de Want a job? www.zeta-software.de/jobs

Right on. My favourite album to listen to when programming is 'Master of Puppets'. When it came out I LIVED in the t-shirt for six months. ( Yeah, I had hair down to my nipples as well and yes, I wore the same pair of blue jeans for that six months as well ). Too bad I don't fit the above statement ;P Christian As I learn the innermost secrets of the around me, they reward me in many ways to keep quiet. Yeah, TBA is OK, but it is also a little overrated IMO. Sure, Enter Sandman, Where-ever I May Roam and The Unforgiven rock, but much as I like the Load's, TBA was the start of their not being a *metal* band. The first three albums between them get the most airplay for me, I've recently rediscovered Kill 'Em All as a killer album, and For Whom The Bell Tolls is just an amazing song ( so is Creeping Death ). Can I venture a guess that you are younger than me ( 32 ) ? I bought all the albums as they came out, so my expectation will always come back to what they were when I was first buying them. Ok, I am 5 years younger and listing to Metallica no more than 4 years. Well, we have to await where Metallica will go, since Jason has left them. Thomas

Well, Jason was the only pure metal guy left, so I am not expecting much. I loved 'Disappear' though, but S&M sucked. So did most of the new covers. I've also heard some tracks claiming to be roughs of the next album from *cough*ster, and they absolutely blew. Yeah, the S&M was not that what I had expected. Do you now "Lingua Mortis"? That's an album of Rage -- a former German Metall band -- and the Prague Symphony (or was it Philharmonic?) Orchestra? That's aeons better. The real title for S&M should be Symphony Orchestra against Metallica!

And James is in detox. Methinks the end of the road looms, although Lars is such a greedy bastard he'll try to milk it for a few more million$ before it's over. I sometimes wonder if Lars is in any way related to Billy-Bob Gates - their passion of world domination is very similar. ----------------------- Reg : "Well, what Jesus blatantly fails to appreciate is that it's the meek who are the problem."

If I'm in a retro mood I'll vote for MötorHead, Skyclad and Queensrÿche. Metallica are OK but I never did get into them. I did see them at Donington a while back though (with Skid Row supporting). :-D Andy Metcalfe - Sonardyne International Ltd

You're not meant to tell everyone that all programmers like heavy metal - you're promoting a sterotype which isn't true. :-O Ok, so maybe I used to listen to Metallica, saw them at Milton Keynes with Megadeath/Almighty years ago, learned to play bass because of Jason Newstead/Cliff Burton (complete with ridiculous Newstead haircut), formed a thrash metal band to be like them. That doesn't make me a stereotype does it? Luckily I've grown up a bit now - or just gotten (had to get that it in) old. Nowadays I listen to the likes of Ryan Adams, Turin Brakes, Ed Harcourt when I'm working. Makes me much more productive. Mind you I'm listening to Stone Temple Pilots at the moment so I guess you never forget your roots. James Spibey Well cover me in honey and throw me to the lesbians!
