Sunday Morning Thread

Woke up at half three, pottered about the flat for bit, made tuna salad for lunch and am now at work prepping for the coming week. Later I want to go zone out in front of a movie, any DVD suggestions? regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Anna-Jayne Metcalfe wrote: "Cynicism has it's place in life - but it should be kept well away from your inner self." The Back to the Future Trilogy always works for me. :)

As usual I am here at work (enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate too) and I just thought I would see how everyone else is spending their morning/day/evening? It's nice and cold here, 28°F however with our wind-chill it feels like 22°F. Someone tell me they are enjoying warmer weather. :sigh:

I'm spending the day playing with a website redesign that is great fun - converting a static site to one that uses ASP/ADO to pull most of its content from a database. And it's actually working perfectly!:-D Of course, no reward comes without punishment. The flipside of the day is coping with one eye that barely opens because of a unpleasant ailment (conjunctivitis) that I haven't had since I was a little boy. Unfortunately the only effective treatment requires a prescription - not an option.:sigh: "Your village called -

Today is Remembrance Sunday, so I was at Church for the service, which was as moving and thoughtfull as always. It's also the last service I'll be attending until I return in January, and so doubly emotional for me. Everyone in my Church has been fantastic. :) Since then it's been a mad rush of packing and preparation. Tonight I'm visiting friends in town, and then tomorrow evening I'm on my way down to pick up my friend Kazzy from Weston-Super-Mare, before flying from Heathrow at 9:30pm. It's pretty cold and wet in the UK at the moment, but at the other end the temperature is above 30 degrees! I'm rather fed up with the weather here so I'm not complaining! It's a very shinny day, with temperatures around 33ºC. I've walked with my wife this morning, and went to the swimming pool with her and my kid this afternoon. I've also cooked a delicious fresh pasta for our lunch. It's a very, very nice day! I know it sounds very strange, but a couple of my family members got conjunctivitis, and one of my brothers knocked it out with onion juice, while the rest got prescriptions from the eye doctor. The onion juice did the trick faster than anything else, but the rest didn't want to try it. ;)

jdunlap wrote: Try onion juice I'll pass, thanks. An excellent book I have on herbal healing recommends chamomile tea as a hot compress, and that seems to be turning the tide quite nicely. Happily, I am rarely affected by infections of any kind, and always mend faster than most. That's a blessing I'm very grateful to have!:-D "Your village called -
