SAPDB - The dogs wotsits?
-
I have been introduced to SAPDB, I was previously using MySql as my db provider for a project, however the lack/implementation of simple features such as transactions (etc) was starting to upset me! We looked at the documentation on the sap website www.sapdb.org[^] and it looks really good. Does anybody have any personal experiences of SAPDB, positive or negative, it seems a little 'to good to be true' Thanks! The InnoDB storage engine is now offered as a standard feature of the MySQL server. This means full support for ACID transactions, foreign keys with cascading UPDATE/DELETE, and row-level locking are now standard features. Clickety[^] Jeremy Falcon

It is a hog, though, hope you have plenty of space on your drive and plenty of time to wait to install it.. ;) No single raindrop believes that it is responsible for the flood.
True, but you can span databases across multiple disks, adding new ones as you need. We have used it in production environments since it was released and have had a great experience. Not quite sold on the tie-up with MySQL though... "If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?" - Albert Einstein
