Anyone recommend a brand or particular one? Probably looking @ 64MB or so, but will entertain other possibilities if the $$ is right... - Nitron

I picked up a USB2 256MB FujiFilm for $59 after rebates a few months ago. It does everything I expect it to do without issue. I see that price again every few weeks. Chris

It's probably more than you want to spend, but check out the iRiver MP3 players[^]. I bought one and I haven't been sorry. Each is a memory device, FM radio, MP3 encoder, MP3 player, and voice recorder in one. (The voice recording is really good.) It comes with a proprietary, but flawless, application that you can use to transfer files to/from the device, and you can also flash the firmware to convert it to a pen drive: I believe that instant plug and play compatibility with Windows, Linux and Mac is claimed, and I have personal experience that it works just fine with Windows. Versions are offered in 64MB, 128MB, 256MB, and 512MB. Regards, Jeff Varszegi

I have a 256MB Lexar Media Secure JumpDrive. Had it for about 3 months now and haven't used a CD or floppy since getting it :) Use it daily at work and home to transfer downloads, music, etc. The really cool feature it has is that you can partition the drive and mark a partiton as "private" hence the name Secure JumpDrive. This partiotn is password protected so even if you loan the key to a friend, they can only access the public partition of the drive. I love it! check it out. It ofiginally cost $99 but a friend of mine got it for me at $60 on sale. .:. Keno .:.

I bought myself a SanDisk Cruzer sometime back. The really nice thing about it is that it uses SD cards so you can swap SD cards in and out to increase capacity or - if you have devices like my iPAQ or other HP/Compaq laptops and other upcoming devices - you can stick the SD card in those devices. I got it from some site off pricewatch.com for $99. Definitely worth it, especially since it uses a standard media format like SD and is a modular design.

They are nice, but you don't want to program for them ;) The SDK to use the private/encrypted part, and for doing formats and changing sizes of the 2 "drives" is a nightmare to use. - Anders Money talks, but all mine ever says is "Goodbye!" The Lexar JumpDrives are great. I have the 1GB and 512MB USB2.0 versions, very slick:cool:

PenDrive by KTI. I picked up a Secure 512 MB model from http://www.directron.com for $140. I use it so much I wish I had gone for the 1GB.
