My car was stopped in a line waiting to get off on my exit for work. I was listening to Michael Crighton's Timeline on CD, trying to hold on to the last strands of my weekend.:) Well, I never made into to work this morning. Some jack-ass without a driver's license decided my car looked too nice with the rain drops pearling off my shiney white freshly waxed Civic. Something about the rain causes people to lose all sense when it comes to driving. The guy had plenty of room to skid about to the right of me, even had some grass on the shoulder to roll about on if need be. However, for reasons unknown to me, he thought veering directly into my bumper was the best course.:mad: Now, I'm not sure if my car will be totalled, fixed, if I need to look for a new one, whatever. Also, my neck is starting to get a touch sore from the jolt, but luckily my Doctor gave me a few scripts to dull the swelling and inevitable pain tomorrow. Ackkkk! maybe tomorrow will be better.:sigh: Pic1[^] Pic2[^] Damnit!! The Pittsburgh Steelers better kick-ass tonight!

My advice: call one of those accident attorneys and sue. I know it's not very ethical, especially if you're feeling OK, but everybody does it. The money you receive will come from the insurance company and you can think of it as a nice compensation for your time and stress during and after the accident. You can also get free treatment from a chiropractor to help ease any real pain you still have. My ex-wife and I got into one several years ago and we sued. We got $5000, 33% of which went to the lawyer. Not too shabby. Regards, Alvaro

His insurance company will be paying for damages. I probably could come up with some things to sue him over, but I don't see it happening right now.

I used to be like you, "I'm feeling fine, I don't need to bother with lawyers or any of that." That was until that accident my exwife and I had, where I heard her complaining about pain in her lower back. Then I thought, she should go see a specialist (chiropractor) to make sure it's OK, and we should see a lawyer to make sure we don't incur any medical costs. But the system has degraded to the point where everyone just sues everyone. You can be almost certain that if you had been the one at fault, the other guy would be calling his lawyer and suing. It's that simple: you hit someone, they sue, so when someone hits you, you should do the same. If you don't, no one's gonna call you and thank you for being so honest and compassionate. And what's worse, you may actually have some real damage done to your body that you don't feel now, but may come back to bite you later in life. I don't mean to alarm you or anything, and honestly I hope your pain was temporary. Hopefully after your car gets repaired you can get on with your life. However, if your pain doesn't go away completely in a few days, I recommend you consult with a lawyer to see what options are available to you. Regards, Alvaro
