Congratulations. I still wonder where from the original DNA samples are. From Bushista handshakes, maybe?

I would think that the most important thing in terms of the future of Iraq is to have a trial that will provide massive and credible publicity to the crimes committed by the Saddam Hussein regime. This should be an educational exercise for Iraq and the broader Arab/Muslim world. Whether or not Saddam Hussein gets the death penalty is of trivial importance in the overall scheme of things. <Edit> It is the effect of his trial on the rest of the world that matters and for that reason the choice of tribunal must be made so as to maximise the educational effect on the rest of the world, not with a view to exacting the simplest, most clearly predetermined vengeance on him. </Edit> John Carson

10 years quicker than I'd expected, but a hearty congratulations to the Americans. A very nice Christmas present for George Bush, especially given Saddam's Santa look. But now is when it gets interesting. The resistance forces are bound to increase their attacks in a last throw of the dice, whilst the rest of the world waits for the "Trial of Saddam". The bad news about all of this is that Saddam sure as heck wasn't directing any anti-coalition activities from a hole in the ground. Who ever is doing that is still out there. Still, Saddam's capture should have a huge symbolic impact on at least the Baathist source of "Iraqi" resistence. Plus, you have to believe that Saddam will sing like a bird if he thinks he can gain advantage from it.
