:wtf: Way to boost moral. Yeah, you might be replaced by someone overseas. You have to train them, then you have 60 days to find a job here or get laid off. Oh, and were not really hiring right now either. Good luck If I worked for IBM I'd be jumping ship right about now Matt Newman If you chose to continue this discussion, I am fully prepared to make you my bitch. I talked to an engineer who works at Honeywell this weekend about this same thing... They layed off all of their programmers and draftsmen about 6 months ago and outsourced these 'services' to India. Nothing has been accomplished since. There is a formidable time, distance, language and technology barrier. He's looking for another job now because the end of this division of Honeywell is now a foregone conclusion. All of the CEOs and MBAs are patting themselves on the back, crowing about how much money they've saved... unfortunately, they've also completely trashed their product maintenance and development - but most of them have no concept of what that means anyway. He and the other engineers are now writing market forecasts of sales for the technology that they can no longer produce. When he asked how to arrive at the forecast figures, he was told to 'just make them up - it doesn't really matter'. Their CEO congratulated them on the design of the new widgets that will bring the company 12.8 million dollars in sales... based upon their made-up numbers for sales of products that they can no longer design and produce. Dilbert becomes reality... Steven J. Ackerman, Consultant ACS, Sarasota, FL http://www.acscontrol.com steve@acscontrol.com

And just how effective will that training be? My code isn't buggy. Those are all fleatures.

Personally, this should teach the stupid arses for working for IBM - payback for the misery of Notes.
