Problems with 160 Gb Seagate HDD
-
hi there.. Thanks for your time.. I am facing strange problems with my 160 Gb seagate hard disk. Firstly it was showing it as 134 Gbs , then i installed the SP4 for win 2k Adv Svr. Now it shows it as 160 Gbs. But when the data inside it exceeds 134 Gb, It starts writing on the previously written files hence "pasting" new video data inside the alrady existing videos :)) now when i play that old video , some parts of it are gone and contain new videos from other files which i recently pasted :( PLZ PLZ help me in this..it has been a month..seagates own drive wizard doesnot help too.. thanks regards

some days ago I found something similar with an old P2: I had installed there a 80GB HDD and the bios didn't recognize it, so I had to upgrade the bios in order to be able to use that HDD. The problems started when after some time of use the computer hanged and some windows important files disappeared... It seemed that somehow they had been deleted... In my case the bios was a beta file (ASUS won't continue upgrading it X| ) but it worked fine at the beggining. try to upgrade your bios software and if this doesn't work, try to make two partitions. Who knows, it can be that this would be your problem... I have partitioned the 80GB's HDD and till now it is working well... Hope this helps... PS: Happy new year... :rose:

Yet the original is now back - could I be losing my mind just in time for 2004? :~ (at least I'm in good company, and dragging you down with me I guess ;P )

yes..but the drive is already formated using NTFS..and no file is greater the 800 mbs..
