War? Bob Marley's or Bruce Springtseen's? Or would that be Frankie Goes to Hollywood? KaЯl wrote: Love is like a cigarette"... "God is a havana smoker" Ouch it hurts! But surely you can do better than that!!! Maybe some forgotten Mireille Mathieu all time classics? ;P
BadJerry wrote: War? Bob Marley's or Bruce Springtseen's? Or would that be Frankie Goes to Hollywood? U2's, of course, 1983 :) BadJerry wrote: But surely you can do better than that!!! Got a link? As far as I can see, Radio 2 is still RealPlayer only. 1Xtra, BBC 7 and World Service have been converted (they also appear in Windows Media Player's Radio Tuner list).

What music are you currently listening to (or recently have listened to) I'll start it rolling: Currently, The Darkness, Permission to Land (who will be the new Queen if they last for another 30 years :-)) Plus Radiohead's Hail to the Thief is still getting listened to fairly often [EDIT] The suggestion of listening to the radio made me recall that Triple J Australia are worth listening to - thanks guys :-) [/EDIT] -- Ian Darling "The moral of the story is that with a contrived example, you can prove anything." - Joel Spolsky

Ah! Relief! :) Mala Vida is one of my favourite tracks ever btw very strange behaviour here; it seems I picked up your local settings, my keyboard is pretending to be azerty... bug?
BadJerry wrote: Mala Vida Also on my top 10 ever. A pure moment of energy! BadJerry wrote: my keyboard is pretending to be azerty Perhaps a Windows functionality? Sometimes I've got the opposite problem, keyboard turning to QWERTY. I generally solve this thanks to the Settings/Keyboard Properties, on the "Input Locales" tab.

van Padoea wrote: Is this part of a bet or do you really like this? Why do you ask? Do you not like it? Actually, in 1999/2000 I tried to learn Dutch because I was working in the Netherlands a lot (mostly in Leeuwarden, but also in Rotterdam [and also in Mechelen in Belgium which is a Dutch speaking area]) and I got some CDs of Dutch music to listen to to better aclimatise my ear to the sound of the language. The music was slightly haphazardly chosen but the fact that the voices are quite clear was also a factor. (I also have Nieuw Nederlands Peil 8 but I can't hear the words so I don't listen to it that often). Your question implied that the music was not the best available. Do you have any suggestions of other Dutch music? Met vriendelijke groeten, Colin. --Colin Mackay--
Colin Angus Mackay wrote: Why do you ask? Do you not like it? I just didn't expect that a non native dutch speaker would listen to dutch spoken music. I myself don't really like dutch spoken music but that's becauce most of it isn't my genre. I'm more into SKA, rockabilly, psychobilly, old school Hip Hop. Colin Angus Mackay wrote: Your question implied that the music was not the best available. Do you have any suggestions of other Dutch music? Hmmm... FRANS "Heb je even voormij" BAUER is hot right now but be warned!!! X| If you're into Hip Hop, Osdorp Posse is ok. Blof is nice. I think nieuw Nederlands peil is the best you can get! Cheers, Arjan

mostly pop and rock but also other kind of musik like oldies (60s-80s, some are really great) and on friday night also techno (i hate this) but it's the best radio station in austria

It is them indeed! The album I really know is "In the Dutch mountains"... obviously a clear sign of humour! They sang in English on that one... I used to listen to them in the late eighties but I think they are still going. No idea about the clarity of the lyrics in Dutch though!
