Clickety[^] I'm not even sure if I want to imagine what kind of computers could come out of that X| Hopefully they are in it for the e-Machines management because Gateway's just plain sucks. Matt Newman If you chose to continue this discussion, I am fully prepared to make you my bitch. I invite you to ask around, and you'll find out that I'm quite capable of doing so - John Simmons on Trolls

I had an eMachines computer a while back and it was awesome...fast, compact in size (built in graphics card though and not AGP) and the recovery disk was the best...slip it in and reinstall everything (format and all) with on click. It was a great computer right up until the power supply surged and friend everything :( Peice of shite! I've never even touched a gateway, but if they're like HP I'm not interested...custom build....thats where it's at :) Only then you get no support. The word of the day is legs, let's go back to my house and spread the word ;P

Have you ever tried to get support from a company like HP/Compaq? You'll wish it didn't come with support. -Steven Hicks

HP is horrible. I've never tried to get phone support, but looking for a driver that didn't ship with my computer was hellish. I finally went to Driversguide or windrivers.com or something and found it there. The word of the day is legs, let's go back to my house and spread the word ;P

Ah yes, and the 8 or so e-machines that come into the shop every week. Seems that users buy em cause they are cheap. Then add a second CD-ROM or a burner. The poor 75watt power supply just blows up. I have 2 friends that thank e-Macines for this. (Apparently, one of the small things that helps keep them in business)
