I got a new toy. :) Motorola T720[^] Never mind the price tag, mine wasn't even close to what they list here. The other day I lost my trusty old StarTAC. I was sure I checked everywhere it could've been, so I decided to bite the bullet and get a new phone. I don't generally care for bells and whistles, but I'm lovin' this thing so far. It's got all kinds of features I'll never use. As luck would have it, my friend found my StarTAC in his truck last night, and gave it to me this morning at work. BW CP Member Homepages

According to The Meaning of Liff[^] that is what is called a WINKLEY (n.) A lost object which turns up immediately you've gone and bought a replacement for it.

I thought I remembered reading a comment from CES that people only use 10% of the capability of their gadgets.

This is one of my favourite quote on the subject (I am pretty sure I have read it here some time ago, but I found it again on Google) : "There's an old story about the person who wished his computer were as easy to use as his telephone. That wish has come true, since I no longer know how to use my telephone." - Bjarne Stroustrup

If only they all used the same 10%...

But in the end, it's all just database access right? And that stuff is just plain boring.

                      - David Stone, not a programming question but...
