"Outsourced" means buying a skill set from someone else, rather than doing it in house. With all the controversy these days about so many jobs being moved to India, it usually refers to farming out jobs to another country, but it's really nothing new. I has long been common in the US for companies to hire another company to do payroll, for instance, or to maintain their copy machines, rather than keeping internal staff to do those jobs. If I understand your question. Outsource means to have someone from outside the company perform the work. The major trend is for companies to outsource work to cheaper locations, India for the moment.

you've just lost your turn..." [sigh] So true...Outsourcing PR sounds like a recipe for a disaster to me. This job is all about communication and understanding the customer. And you do not convince many customers using cultural patterns from 6000 miles away. Outsource programming is possible because programming languages are standardised and a loop is a loop whether written by Indian or American programmer. But marketing messages are all about culture. Outsourcing PR sounds like a recipe for a disaster to me. This job is all about communication and understanding the customer. And you do not convince many customers using cultural patterns from 6000 miles away. Outsource programming is possible because programming languages are standardised and a loop is a loop whether written by Indian or American programmer. But marketing messages are all about culture.
