So what is that yellow emoticon that you used? Vomit or something? I don't see it in the list.

I agree with M_M_G. The GeForce FX5200 is really not that good of a video card. The guy across the hall from me got one and it runs about half as fast as my GeForce4 Ti4600 on 3DMark (and he has a much faster processor and RAM). I would suggest at least a GeForce FX5200 Ultra. The FX5600 is also not much more than either of the 2. The GeForce FX5950 Ultra is one of the best on the market right now but is still quite pricey (at least on newegg.com). Especially for games like Far Cry, I'd recommend at least a 5600 Ultra, better 5700 Ultra to get good frame rates. A Radeon 9600 XT would be an alternative.

Primary comp(Windows XP): Athlon64 3200+ (2.2ghz clock speed) on an ASUS K8V motherboard 1 gig of PC3200 DDR 80 gig HDD with a 60 gig external Audigy 2 ZS Soundcard GeForce FX5200 (need to replace ASAP! shit card) - will probably replace with Radeon 9800XT Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Surround Sound 500 watt speaker system Midnight Dreamer Case I highly recommend newegg.com for computer parts purchases... cheap and fast delivery. Or you can go to pricewatch.com. Secondary comp (Redhat Linux 9): P4 2.0ghz on an Intel810e mobo 512mb of PC800 RAMBUS (shit memory and *very* expensive) 120 gig HDD Santa Cruz soundcard GeForce3 Ti200 Btw, hello all... name is Steve and i'm new to the forums. :-D

Some 3D cards come with a coupon so you can get a free copy of Half-Life 2 (whenever it ships). Maybe 2 years from now, cards will come with a coupon to get Longhorn (whenever it ships). ;) --Mike-- Personal stuff:: Ericahist | Homepage Shareware stuff:: 1ClickPicGrabber | RightClick-Encrypt CP stuff:: CP SearchBar v2.0.2 | C++ Forum FAQ Kosh reminded me of some of the prima-donna programmers I've worked with. Yeah, I agree, I was just trying to give him some alternatives that were of comparable price. The 5600 Ultra isn't too bad priced but above that the prices start to get pretty high. Speaking of Far Cry though, I just looked at it on GameSpot[^] and it looks pretty awesome. I might have to get a better video card when it comes out (Ti4600 probably won't be quite enough for that one).:) Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99

One thing you didn't mention about them is that they have excellent customer service. I've had to send a couple of things back to them (mostly because Chaintek puts shitty fans on their graphics cards) and they promptly replaced them. Brad Jennings Sonork: 100.36360 AIM: hongg99
