Things I want in a cell phone.
-
-Gobs of memory. (>256MB, 1GB would be good) -Ability to store data (just like a USB memory key) -MP3 Ringers. -Ability to play MP3 files via headphones. -Bluetooth capable. -Virtual buttons (touchscreen). -Screen big enough to actually surf the web. -Ability to work with all wireless phone standards (GSM, etc). -Small enough to fit in my hand. -GPS that can actually tell me where I am. -Privacy guards in place so I can't be tracked/charged/monitored without my consent. -Ability to interface with a computer so I can print out a list of transactions/phonecalls with the pertinent details. -The infrastructure (in the US) to make wireless really useful: (Tollbooth, vending machines, gas/petrol purchases, etc charged to cell phone account). -Sean ---- Shag a Lizard

You want the electronic equivalent of a swiss army knife, where the phone capability is just one, in this case, rather minor feature. ;P -- Unser Tanz ist so wild! Ein neuer böser Tanz. Alle gegen Alle!

- Get all the phone numbers of girls (singles only) in the surrounding area with touch of button. ;P
Promise only what you can do. And then deliver more than what you promised.

Sean Cundiff wrote: -Virtual buttons (touchscreen). I had this on my last phone... It was a Kyocera with Palm OS built in. What i did like about the touchscreen was the virtual keyboard that popped up. Much eaier to text message someone that way. Besides the virtual keyboard... I prefer not to TouchScreen :) ------------------------------- Joan MomComputerGeek.com

Yikes! People forget about the "swiss army knife" effect. Sure a swiss army knife has a knife, a screwdriver, a toothpick, a can opener, etc. But you get to the point you have an ugly ass piece of equipment the more you stack onto it. Not to mention the dubious value of sticking all of these things together. Sure a swiss army knife has a screwdriver but is it better than using a full sized screwdriver from the set you bought for $5? I want a phone I can use to talk to people. If you cram too much other stuff onto it it isn't a phone but a communication monster with cancerous growths.

If you mean by "silent", it emits a high-voltage shock, then yes, I agree. :) Remember, even if you win the rat race, you're still a rat.

What is the draw? I can't imagine wanting to surf the net on a little handheld when I can surf free at home or work (or wherever as most people have computers now). I'm usually the first to get any given technology, but I just haven't found most of these features useful.
