So now that half the world thinks the US owns Iraq...

To be honest though, I don't really bother to bitch about the price of petrol. Seriously, if you don't like it, ride a bike, or buy a smaller car. Christian I have drunk the cool-aid and found it wan and bitter. - Chris Maunder

Why the H-E-double-hockey-sticks did I have to pay $1.80USD for gasoline this morning!!!!!!!   I thought the US went into Iraq for the oil! Maybe we're selling it all to those lovey-dovey brits... :suss:
Lucky you, here in Germany we have to pay about $4.00 USD for 1 US gallon ... X| It's all about these taxes  Greetings,

Around here the hazards are wild burros and RVs - even an SUV doesn't stand much of a chance, so large, high-profile trucks are preferred. Bicycles are a definite hazard to your health, as well. We have a lot of elderly idiots who shouldn't be allowed to drive at all, but we have to let them as the nearest major medical centers are 100 miles away. They are known for driving off the road, or simply driving over cyclists. Worse, nearly everything worth visiting is at least 100 miles away, and few riders are up to that journey on a bike. I totally agree !! All of those people who have whinged about your post are totally out of touch. It doesn't matter if gas costs a lot in europe as they don't use much. But in the US it's important, if we could get the US gas price down I'm sure Americans could use more of it, and thus reduce ythe world supply faster. This of course would be good, because the faster we run out globally, the less chance of pollution there will be. Regardz Colin J Davies

blogActually, statistics show that smaller cars are much safer. Sure, they lose in a head on collision, but are much more stable and manuveralbe. So the odds of staying on the road are much greater. Compared to prices below $1 just a couple of years ago, it sux. Our monthly bill for gas has gone up about $30-$40 since then. That's a significant dent in the pocketbook for me. That means no eating out or buying computer software, etc.
