I suspect that many of your posts would be far more acceptable if your style was less obnoxious and abrasive. I happen to agree with much of what you have to say, but because of your style I'm inclined to think of you as more of a particularly low and virulent asshole than a rational observer of world events. Mind you, there's nothing wrong with being an asshole, so long as you're good at it. We all take turns at it here, though John Simmons is probably the universally acknowledged master... he is held in high regard because of his mastery of style. You could learn much from a study of his contributions. Terry O`Nolley wrote: 3) People who wish to highlight US failures in Iraq (real or propagandized) have a hidden agenda Of course they do - what's new about that? Liberals want a nanny state, worldwide, and they will seize any opportunity to undermine respect for the existing regime. Old news, so why harp on it? Terry O`Nolley wrote: A) If you aren't self-righteous then you aren't self-righteous liberal bastard I don't see any shortage of self-righteous Conservatives. Even Jerry Falwell still has a following, though most have trouble remembering how to tie shoes. Terry O`Nolley wrote: B) If you aren't a bastard, then you aren't a self-righteous liberal bastard! Are the children of Liberals the only ones who can't recall the names of their fathers? Terry O`Nolley wrote: C) Don't be an asshole and assume I am talking about you without realizing that you need to first consciously decide to apply my labels to yourself. I'd never do that. You're obviously taking to Chris and Karl. And you're obviously trolling for a response from our poor, retarded, Liberal friends. That's just plain cruel, and beneath you. They can't help the fact that their minds were canalized at a young age in ways that no thinking person would condone. Be nice, Terry - shame on you for picking on defenseless critters like that!;P Will Build Nuclear Missile For Food - No Target Too Small

I make my judgements on facts as I see them and ignore ideology. The fact is that regardless of the horrible things that occurred on 9/11, and other terrorist attacks, the Bush administration has been using it as an excuse to push its own agenda. Yes people are better off without Saddam. But only just I would say. The way that Bush got from A to B was by using lies and disception. Is that the kind of person that you want in office? I would say the worse problem is that Bush is using it as a means to enrich himself and his cronies. The deficits have hit all time highs. There is high unemployment because he has put business interests over American interests. BTW where is Osama bin Laden, has this war on terror stopped them from bombing Madrid?

I wish I had the self control to be able to put into words how I feel as well as you have, but I do get overly-emotive regarding some of the xenophopic and near-racist comments and commentaries I've seen here regarding nations unwilling to beg scraps from the table of the Bush administration (see, there I go AGAIN!). I know that America, and it's people, are not fairly represented in the commentaries I refer to and wherever you're from I'd like to say thank you for bringing me back some perspective.

Maybe. In my defense I'd say that I'm targeting an individual, rather than entire racial/ethnic/religious/political groups, as Mr. Gaskey is wont to do. I was also responding to being indirectly called a liberal asshole. I'd say my response was justified.

My perception is that there aren't many people who seem to think this. But then again I tend to surround myself with people who are educated and involved in world affairs. The rhetoric of the media and the government can be misleading at times so I can understand how those that are less informed might think that. Sorry, I won't attempt to analyze who's more to blame.

Yikes you actually read my biography? I will have to add that I am an American-Canadian. or Canadian-American.

My neighbours think I am crazy - but they don't know that I have a trampoline. All they see my head bobbing up and down over the fence every five seconds

The answer is an intelligent liberal that isn't tied body and soul to the extreme liberal platform. You are apparently referring to yourself. Your image of yourself is not widely shared. Terry O`Nolley wrote: I think that the opinion I hold that most offends self-righteous liberal bastards is my "You must be a Saddam supporter" position. That is certainly offensive but is symptomatic of a broader problem which is: 1. An inability to accept that people of goodwill might disagree with you. 2. A reluctance to honestly engage with other people's views, preferring instead to defame them by attributing to them a distorted caricature of their true opinions. John Carson "I wish to propose for the reader's favourable consideration a doctrine which may, I fear, appear wildly paradoxical and subversive. The doctrine in question is this: that it is undesirable to believe a proposition when there is no ground whatever for supposing it true." - Bertrand Russell
